The people in Japan got to know Azumanga Daioh originally as a short strip, but due to it's popularity the strips were later on gathered together and 4 volumes of the Azumanga Daioh manga were released. The books are all extremely entertaining and if you like to have fun with your anime series, then you seriously need to check out Azumanga.
